One of the top private club experiences in the state of Wisconsin, Blue Mound Golf & Country Club boasts a top 200 golf course designed by one of the industry’s true legends, Seth Raynor.

Blue Mound’s 93-year-old course is highlighted by some fantastic Raynor/Macdonald template holes and especially by the area’s biggest and best green complexes.

After a weather-shortened golf season, it looks like Winter will be hitting Wisconsin early this year. At least courses are beautiful for another week or two.

Over the past two months, the most read article on my site has been about the 2016 North Hills Country Club New Membership Promotion.

While that membership drive has expired, they do have some great new programs in place. I want to make sure you folks looking for that are not reading outdated information, so the following is this year’s membership drive.

* As a caveat, the 2016 membership drive at North Hills was a massive success! The club added over 70 new members that year, almost all of whom are under the age of 40.

Following a tour of the newly renovated No. 2 course with Rees Jones, we were treated to an out-of-this-world golf experience at Medinah Country Club’s Course 3 – one of the country’s greatest major event hosts.

The University Club, fka Tripoli Country Club, and Andy Staples of Staples Golf Design, are in the process of making significant course renovations and adding in a world-class short game practice area.

Some great additional research I was able to come across for North Hills Country Club in Menomonee Falls, including AW Tillinghast’s letter to the PGA redesigning the then-16th hole and tournament results from the 1940 Milwaukee Open (Hogan, Snead), 1951 Pabst Blue Ribbon Open (Snead), and 1961 Milwaukee Open (Nicklaus, Player, Venturi)

My first experience at Hidden Glen in Cedarburg, Wisconsin – one of the hardest first-time courses I’ve played in a looong time. Can’t wait to play it again, though!
