Over the past 13 years writing WiscoGolfAddict the game has never been hotter, and it’s been such a joy covering golf’s growth, especially here in Wisconsin.
There are few things I enjoy more than talking the game with others who love it and this past week I had the opportunity to join a few of the state’s top golf personalities for candid banter on just that: Wisconsin golf.
Started and run by local Marketing guru Richie Burke, Milwaukee Uncut features entertaining, inspiring and untold stories from Milwaukee (and Wisconsin) legends.
Milwaukee Uncut taps into the heartbeat of Milwaukee, discussing the area’s top trends and diving into the city’s biggest and most influential personalities.
Past episodes have included Charlie Berens, my friends and golf buddies Chef Adam Pawlak of HELL’S KITCHEN, Beat Bobby Flay, Celebrity Chef Grudge Match and Egg & Flour Pasta Bar and WISN-12 Sports Director Dario Melendez and his wife, Jen Lada, local legends like the Milverine, Marquette’s Kam Davis and Stevie Mitchell, Mayor Cavalier Johnson, the Packers tight end Tyler Davis and many more.
Milwaukee Uncut has been ranked in the top 1% of podcasts globally and generates hundreds of thousands of views a month on its Instagram content.

For this, the show’s golf special, Richie included one of the most promising young golfers to come out of Wisconsin in a long time, Harrison Ott (two-time winner of the Wisconsin State Open and past champion of the State Amateur, round of 16 at the US Amateur at Bandon Dunes, former star at Vanderbilt and current member of the Emerald Coast Tour), Bally’s Sports’ Stephen Watson (Brewers and Bucks pre- and post-game host and co-host of the On the Tee podcast with ESPN’s Gabe Neitzel) and me.
Richie is far from a novice on the game of golf, as well, by the way. A one-handicap playing out of Blue Mound Golf & Country Club, Richie has been a mainstay on Wisconsin state tournament leaderboards for years and considers it one of his biggest passions.
Topics we discussed in the one-hour and three minute episode (full listing below) include Harry’s adventures on the professional golf mini-tours in pursuit of his dream of making the PGA Tour, PGA vs. LIV, the state of the game of golf in Wisconsin and nationally and, of course, our favorite holes and courses from around the state.
Whether driving to Madison or if you find yourself with an hour while working or making dinner, give us a listen and be sure to subscribe to the Milwaukee Uncut podcast!
