Over the past couple months I’ve started getting more requests to appear on podcasts and radio shows, and when Golfer’s Anonymous got in touch about previewing their upcoming (happening now) Wisconsin trip I just had to be a part.
If you know me, you know I cherish opportunities to talk golf in the Dairy State, and especially for it to be one-on-one time was intriguing.
Noah and I discussed many of the great courses in Wisconsin, both public and private, as well as the WGA website, my methods for rating and ranking courses and touched on the professional game and everything else golf-related.
Below are links to all the mediums Golfer’s Anonymous can be listened to on, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts ( and Amazon Music, as well as a few social media trailers posted over the past couple weeks:
Noah and his team got their Wisconsin golf trip off to a great start yesterday at Washington County and will move on next to Strawberry Creek today followed by Erin Hills, Sand Valley, Sedge Valley, Mammoth Dunes, The Sandbox and potentially others before heading home to Massachussetts.
I’m obviously jealous, and we will of course be doing a follow-up podcast to discuss the trip and their thoughts on Wisconsin golf soon after.
A Little Housekeeping
In listening through the full podcast I noticed several errors made in my stories. The one I wanted to bring up is around Pine Hills Country Club. I started talking about “the story of Kohler and Pine Hills” and then realized it was too long and opted for a more abbreviated version. In the version I told, I somehow replaced Herb Kohler’s name with Pete Dye’s.
What I meant to say is that Herb Kohler originally came to Pine Hills hoping to buy the property as his resort course; when the club wouldn’t sell he was then introduced (by Gene Haas) to Pete Dye, who turned him on to golf architecture and eventually led to the Mecca of golf that Kohler is today.
The Milwaukee Uncut Golf Pod is Humming!
If you have not had a chance to check out the recent Milwaukee Uncut content then what are you waiting for?!
These features have already been viewed over one million times across social media channels and we will be recording a new Fall episode with the same crew – Richie Burke, Harry Ott, Stephen Watson and me – in the next couple weeks.
We’ve come up with some great topics we hope you will all enjoy.
Milwaukee Uncut Golf Feature #1:
Milwaukee Uncut: Talking Wisco Golf With Some of Wisconsin’s Best
Richie Burke, Brewers/Bucks reporter Stephen Watson, professional golfer Harrison Ott and I discuss Wisconsin’s top hidden gems, best courses, holes and the state of golf in Wisconsin and nationally.
We here at WiscoGolfAddict.com hope you’re all having a great Labor Day weekend, and I hope you’re all finding some great places to get out and play over it.
If you have or are, we want to hear about them. And if you’ve got suggestions for intriguing content we can bring your way, please let us know that, too, in the post comments here or in other published work.
As the Wisconsin golf season begins to wind down and the Brewers post-season push heats up, football season is getting underway and soon the Bucks, as well, all I can say is “On Wisconsin!”
Your friend,
Paul
