When golf took over my life, things like owning multiple sets of clubs, always having shoes in my trunk and littering my household with practice areas all started making sense. I knew those were going to come with the territory.
I did not expect the complete transformation of my wardrobe.
I’ve never been accused of being the most fashionable guy. If I had to define my style it would be “what’s the most comfortable thing I can wear that’s acceptable?”
Golf has turned my fairly blah assortment of shorts, t-shirts, sweatpants and a couple shirts meant for the office into a closet stuffed with golf polos, quarter zips and hats, though.
This domination of my wardrobe has also meant a rapid learning curve to find a style that fits me, without crushing my wallet. It helps when the clothes also fit well, breathe well and keep my skin protected from the elements. Luckily, golf apparel is having a moment and there has been a constant stream of new brands entering the market with their own unique twist and style.
Sunday Swagger is exactly such a brand.

Sunday Swagger
Sunday Swagger entered the market in 2019 promising to redefine and push the boundaries of golf fashion with their founder, Mark Carmona, famously saying “We can’t guarantee you’ll make a hole-in-one, but we can guarantee you’ll have the coolest shirt out there on the course.”
When I was asked to review a few of the more than 300 different prints and products this brand offers, I took it as the learning opportunity and challenge it was meant to be. I golf with some fairly fashionable people, but never quite put the effort in to look the best in our group.
For a few months now, I have been styling my way around the golf courses and other places here in Southeastern Wisconsin in a couple of my favorite designs from them: polos in the Ibiza and Blue Lagoon print, their beautiful Magnolia quarter-zip, plus their solid black Sunday Swagger snapback hat.
To put it bluntly, I have worn the heck out of these clothes. They’ve survived extensive wear and tear while becoming some of my favorite items and remaining suitable for all environments on and off the course.
Let’s talk about them.
Sunday Swagger Polos
Sunday Swagger’s products are known for their vibrant colors, bold prints and eye-catching patterns, and are designed to be comfortable, durable and stylish. Some of their polos are made with a 4-way stretch fabric that offers moisture management, breathability, and UPF-40 sun protection.
Their sleeves feel shorter than others, which is a big win. On hot days, I love to roll mine up on the course so I can move my arms without feeling any fabric during my swing. The fabric they use feels thicker than most others, which I found to be great when fall arrived but wasn’t my choice when it was 90 degrees and humid. That being said, the moisture wicking is excellent and the fabric stretch is superb. Not a complaint, but a warning, as it feels noticeably heavy once soaked with sweat.
Initially, my beer gut gave me problems with the size Large I ordered. It was a bit too short and it had a habit of riding up during my swing at the beginning of the round, until it soaked up enough sweat to stay in place. Can’t really fault the company for that as I was kind of in between sizes as a result of losing a lot of weight this year. Going a size up would have been perfect at that time. They do offer their polos in a regular and tall size, so if you’re still carrying around a bit of spare tire in the midsection, you might be better off requesting a tall or going a size up.
Currently, these two polos fit me extremely well. They are usually the first ones I reach for and I feel like such a confident player wearing one. The Ibiza style also became my favorite going-out-in-public shirt because it highlights my body in a complimentary way and I never failed to get compliments on the style whenever I wore it.
Sunday Swagger Hats
I don’t love wearing hats and feel like wearing one is a chore at times. I also blame them for my lack of hair, but that’s a different article.
Sunday Swagger’s hat material is fantastic, breathes very well and absorbs sweat nicely. Their brim feels thick and heavy, which can make it tough to get a ball marker clip on, but I’ve never had any issues with sweat dripping off my brim while playing.
I love the rope accents – those always scream golf hat to me. I tend to prefer a low crown-hat and this is a mid-crown, though I forget I am wearing this one at times which is high praise for a hat in my book.
Sunday Swagger Quarter-Zips
Sunday Swagger also sent me a Magnolia q-zip, which they claim is “inspired by that big golf event that’s in Georgia every April.”
I have to admit, this outerwear is my favorite piece, but it didn’t see much use on the course until fall arrived. Once the temps dropped into the 50s, this really began to show its value.
I love the way it feels, just hugs my body nicely while I play. My favorite part has to be how tight the sleeves are on my arms. Personally, I am not a fan of having loose material sliding up and down my arms as I swing, so these sleeves staying in place without having to be rolled past my elbows is a huge win for my taste.
Sunday Swagger’s Constant Evolution
As a brand, Sunday Swagger continues to evolve.
Since I began my review, they’ve launched a number of new items and have expanded their lineup to include button-up shirts, shorts that have built in functionality golfers crave and a whole host of new patterns and styles.
I look forward to seeing what new crazy prints they come up with next and plan on wearing my current polos into the ground.

Publisher’s note: Sunday Swagger’s Youth Apparel
If you have kids who are into golf, you know like I do that one of the most important things to them is that they look cool.
I buy my kids logoed apparel from all the awesome golf courses and destinations I visit and my son, Charlie’s favorite golf polos are still the ones I get him from Sunday Swagger.
Their youth apparel is reasonably priced ($39/shirt) and his “swag” when he wears them to Junior Golf is totally elevated. When we let him pick his own golf outfits these are almost always the polos he chooses (Blue Lagoon and Gnarly shown, though he also has the Cosmic pattern).
The other awesome thing about their kids apparel is that Sunday Swagger offers matching father/son patterns, so Charlie and I can gear up as a team when we play golf. It probably sounds cheesy to anyone without kids, but trust me it’s awesome and he loves it!
Great article, Chris, and if you’re reading this go get your first clothing from this fun, up-and-coming golf apparel brand, Sunday Swagger!
