Looking for premium quality and a feature-loaded rangefinder?  The Bushnell Pro X3+ delivers all that and then some.

Having been a happy owner of previous Bushnell “hybrid” GPS/Rangefinders, I expected accuracy but with more features.  The quality in the build and ergonomics of the unit are noticeable immediately.  It’s solid, comfortable and steady to hold.

The Best Rangefinder I’ve Ever Used

Here are some of the highlights of the Pro X3+ and why it’s the best rangefinder I have ever experienced:

  • Super-fast lock on flag with red ring and jolt vibrate (great in wind or with shaky hands)
  • Slope mode that factors in temperature and altitude to provide an adjusted yardage
  • Red or black display colors for different light conditions (Dual Display)
  • 600+ yard range with 7X magnification
  • Waterproof and shockproof rubber armor housing
  • Strong “Bite” magnet to attach to cart
  • Legal for tournament play with slope and wind modes turned off
  • Sturdy case and lens cloth
  • Comes with loaded battery (I’m still on the same battery after a full season)
  • App connection to cell phone for wind/temperature impact (handy at times)

When paired with the Bushnell app on my iPhone, the screen display provides a clear and complete layout of each hole with yardages.  It is easy to use the touchscreen to find layup yardages and distances to hazards, trees and open spaces.

The biggest new feature upgrade over the Pro X3 is wind speed and direction information.  Once the unit is paired with your phone, the calibration is done by turning the Pro X3+ in a few directions.

It takes some practice to figure out how many yards to add or subtract based on the wind speed and direction displayed on the screen.

I like using Andrew Rice’s formula:  When hitting into the wind, the “miles per hour of wind will be the distance to add” (10 mph headwind = add 10 yards).  When hitting downwind, use “half the miles per hour to subtract” (10 mph downwind = deduct 5 yards).

“Link-Enabled” is an available optional feature, as well:  with Link-Enabled, by using your launch monitor stock club yardages the Pro X3+ will show club recommendations in the rangefinder’s display.

The Pro X3+ Includes:

• Pro X3+ LINK laser rangefinder
• Premium carrying case
• Washable micro-fiber cloth
• 1 CR2 battery
• Quick start guide

Is the Pro X3+ Your Next Rangefinder?

I highly recommend the Bushnell Pro X3+ unless you already have the Pro X3 or a similar quality rangefinder.

Also, if you play a lot of tournament golf, it’s probably not worth the extra money to get the wind feature.  If you’ve never had a rangefinder with the slope feature and you want to know the wind speed & direction, this is best in class.
