A concept born out of a sunburnt neck, coLLo Apparel has developed a full line of men’s polo shirts and hats that redefine the word “Collared.”
Fit / Feel
Sizing on coLLo’s shirts runs pretty true to convention. I am wearing a size large in these photos, for example, which is what I’d typically wear. The overall shape of their polos is great, too, and I like that I don’t feel constricted in my shoulders or waist when swinging.
CoLLo’s polos are made of a combination of 79% polyester, 21% elastane fabric which gives them great stretchability, and the fabric has a UV 50 rating that provides superior sun protection.
I’ve washed this polo several times, and each time it’s come out of the dryer ready to wear, wrinkle-free and with no shrinkage.
Out on the Course
I wasn’t sure at first that I could pull off the high-collar style on the course, but I have definitely come to embrace it, and have found that it provides two great benefits:
- Warmth on chilly days
- Protects my neck from the sun
The great thing about the way the collar is designed is that if gives you this protection while still looking stylish and acceptable on the course. I feel that if you popped a collar on your regular polo shirt, you may get some unwanted looks.
CoLLo has also gone beyond polos and is now offering dozens of uniquely branded hats. I tried a basic baseball style hat and really liked it. The fit and feel is nice and its quality is great for the price with golf hat styles ranging from curved to flat brims, bucket hats and more.
This ultimately may not be the shirt for everyone as coLLo’s styling is certainly unique, but I have come to really enjoy wearing it. The shirt is comfortable, breathable and ultimately a very nice, high-quality golf top.
With polos priced between $70-$80 they are slightly on the higher end, but I think they’re well within an acceptable range. If you have a closet full of the same style polo shirts, give the new look of coLLo a try. Like me, you’ll probably end up enjoying them even more than you expected.
