One of my favorite things about testing new golf apparel is finding gear that pulls double-duty – pieces that are just as functional on the course as they are stylish and comfortable off it.
The new Medinah Series from Public Rec does exactly that, delivering a lineup of golf-ready staples that work from morning tee times to evening meet-ups with friends… and everything in between.
After recently testing three standout pieces – the Dealmaker 5-Pocket Pants, Made to Move Belt and All Fore It Polo – here’s how they’ve stacked up for me:
Dealmaker 5-Pocket Pants (Navy)
I’m a huge fan of these pants. The comfort level is off the charts – soft, quiet and with a tailored fit that hits the sweet spot between athletic and professional.
What impressed me most is how well they handle the elements. I wore them for a chilly early-morning round at Erin Hills on May 5 during the U.S. Women’s Open media day, for example, and despite heavy dew in the native grasses and steady winds throughout the round, these pants kept me dry and comfortable.
The Dealmaker 5-Pocket Pants are billed as all-weather, and that claim holds up. They’re lightweight enough for warm summer rounds but durable enough for the shoulder seasons – a standout feature. These quickly became a go-to in my rotation and got plenty of wear during golden hour photo shoots during our recent Midwest Golfing Magazine / WiscoGolfAddict / GolfTrips visit to upper Michigan (temperatures were in the high-70’s to mid-80’s during the actual rounds, though, which still had me in shorts).
The Made to Move Belt
This belt is a home run. The Made to Move Belt is a heavy-duty woven style with clean leather ends that elevate the look. It’s extremely well made, and stacks up nicely against similar options from Holderness & Bourne or Southern Tide – at a lower price point.
The neutral colorway is spot-on, pairing effortlessly with both golf attire and everyday outfits. It’s become my most-worn belt so far this spring.
The All Fore It Polo (Navy)
Comfortable, breathable and nicely tailored, the All Fore It Polo nails the modern golf shirt fit. It’s not form-fitting, but it’s also far from baggy – a great match for my 6’2″, 180 lb dad bod.
Made from a performance poly-blend fabric (94% polyester, 6% spandex, knit pique construction with UPF 50 sun protection), it offers moisture-wicking, 4-way stretch, wrinkle-resistant, breathable and quick-dry properties that keep you comfortable and mobile from the first tee through post-round drinks.
The fabric is light and moves well with my swing, and I really like the gray inner collar accent – a subtle touch that reminds me of my beloved Primo Golf Apparel polos (one of my other favorite golf polo brands, along with H&B and Bald Head Blues).
While Primo’s are more form-fitting and stretchy, Public Rec’s polos offer a more laidback and easygoing fit. Both have their place in my closet, and this is one I see myself reaching for again often.
Style, Comfort and Versatility – Delivered
Public Rec describes the Medinah Series as being made for:“Crushing meetings, squeezing in a round and then pulling up a chair with the fellas, all in one smooth stroke.”I’d say that’s right on the money.
These are well-made, versatile essentials that blend performance, comfort and style in a way that just works. Whether you’re heading to the office, the range or the clubhouse, the Medinah Series makes it easy to stay sharp and comfortable all day.
