An incredibly thoughtful present, my brother and his wife got me a golf ball cabinet for Christmas back around 2007, and I’ve been collecting and displaying golf balls in my home ever since.
The fun thing about golf ball cabinets is that it gives avid players something to collect, and of course display, that they can build on and customize for years as they venture out in to the golf world.
I started collecting logo balls shortly after getting my cabinet, which obviously made it look quite sad and lonely to start, but throughout the years my collection has not only filled up earlier, smaller cabinets but has recycled itself several times over.
My old golf ball trophy case was a lot like most of these, and held 63 balls. There are a lot of options to hold more or less, and they can be teed or unteed.
.
My own case has come a long way over the years! What started out as logo balls from all local/muni courses turned in to the ones in my updated 63-ball case shown below (which I gave to a caddie from North Hills a few years back), and eventually to a presentation of many of the country’s best public and private courses in the 203-ball case I built in 2017 (second image below).

Does your avid golfing significant other already have a ball cabinet? If so, and they like it, there are other ideas out there for golf displays including golf pencil holders (96-pencil case by Eureka), magnetic ball marker display cases (like this 100-ball one) and casino chip/ball marker display cases (like this Challenge one – this type of ball marker has been gaining quickly in popularity in recent years).

Whatever they’re into collecting, this is a really solid idea for a Christmas present. If they don’t have any collections started yet, my suggestion is to go with a golf ball display case. Every course sells collectible logo balls and it’s a really cool way to show off and keep track of all the great destinations they get to.
If they read my site, or others similar to it, take it from me they will love this!
