When you find yourself searching for that Atlantic Coast state of mind, check out Bald Head Blues.
I first learned of this great new apparel company while opening a golf subscription box from Birdie Bundle and immediately fell in love with their polo’s fit and feel. To understand a brand, though, sometimes it helps to understand their origin story, and it didn’t take long for me to connect with Bald Head Blues’:
“Bald Head Blues was inspired by our unique Bald Head Island lifestyle, which itself is defined by the simplicity and genius of “Golf Cart Only” mobility. Our “Clothing for Coasting” motto is derived from ‘Coasting’ around in the golf cart on the coast of North Carolina.”

While Bald Head Blues can outfit you from head to toe including apparel for kids and women, I am going to focus on men’s golf apparel. I had the opportunity to try out their polos and pullovers and was really excited with what I found.
The Polos
With over 50 color and pattern combinations, I challenge you to find a polo you don’t like. With a blend comprised of polyester and spandex, the shirts are comfortable to wear, stretch great with your golf swing and look classy for an untucked night out on the town. They were ready to wear straight from the packaging and had no noticeable wrinkles coming out of the washing machine.

Sizing – Speaking with the owner, he suggested I go with a medium for my 5’11 185 build and it was right on. I thought the polos had a great fit and gave me a trim look without any bagginess.

The accent details on the lower cut of the shirt are worth mentioning. Although they will only be noticed if left untucked, it’s a nice, classy touch that I appreciate. I also appreciate that the polos are cut longer in the back to provide flexibility when bending over or turning. It’s nice not constantly struggling to keep my shirt tail tucked in.

Quarter-Zip
If you are looking for the perfect way to complement a Bald Head Blues polo then check out their quarter-zips. Sized to complement the polos, if you are a medium polo opt for a medium quarter-zip.
Similar to the polos, there are over 24 color and pattern options to provide the ultimate freedom of choice when choosing the pullover that works best for you, including some unique colors and striped patterns:

Bald Head Blues’ quarter-zips all have a nice stretch blend to give you flexibility just like the polos. This is not a heavy quarter-zip, so don’t expect it to get you through bitter Fall rounds in Wisconsin, but it will be perfect for those early-summer Midwest tee times and September evenings racing the sunset.

Two other aspects I like about this quarter-zip are its length and bottom cuff. Sometimes quarter-zips are just too short or hang way too long. This Bald Head Blues version rests just below the belt line and holds snug through golf movements. Both of these aspects attribute to it being a new favorite for me out on the course.
Time to update your wardrobe?
With polos selling for $95 and Quarter-Zips around $115, Bald Head Blues apparel hits at a comfortable, middle-to-high price point, and the quality and fit of their materials more than justify the cost.
So go ahead and embrace the Bald Head Island lifestyle, and pick up a polo or two as great new go-to’s in your own golf wardrobe. You’ll love the fit and feel, and will look sharp whether on the course in coastal North Carolina or right here in the Midwest.
